Add your required paid work time to your clock-in time, then add any unpaid lunch or break time. If you start at 8:30 AM, need 8 paid hours and take a 30-minute unpaid lunch, your calculated clock-out time is 5:00 PM.
If your break is paid and does not extend the shift, switch off the unpaid-break option. The calculator will keep the break visible without adding those minutes to your leave time.
Use the second mode when you already know your clock-in and clock-out times. The calculator finds the total clock span, subtracts the unpaid lunch or break you enter, and shows the remaining worked time in hours/minutes and decimal hours.
Overnight shifts are supported. For example, a shift that starts at 10:00 PM and ends at 6:30 AM is treated as continuing into the next day.
An unpaid break normally reduces paid work time or extends the clock-out time needed to reach a target number of paid hours. A paid break does not need to be deducted in the arithmetic. Workplace rules vary, so use the setting that matches your own schedule or employer policy.
